Dear Customers:
Parallax is pleased to announce that today we will be donating $7,940.00 to the American Red Cross for the Katrina relief efforts. This is how we came up with the grand total:
- Customer orders Our customers responded by ordering $9,801.49 of products this morning between 8:00 and noon, of which we will donate 100% of our revenue up to $5,000.00. Our customers don't normally order so many products on a Wednesday morning, so you must have liked the dual purpose of placing an order (get Parallax products, donate at the same time).
- Parallax staff contributions After we announced that Parallax would donate sales revenue to Katrina, our staff asked if we would match their donations. Our staff came up with $1,140.00 of their own money, which Parallax will match in kind to total another $2,280.00. Several of our staff donated through their churches or other organizations, too.
- Guenther Daubach An important part of our SX development team from Germany, Guenther Daubach is contributing 20 SX Multi Boards which we will sell through our web site at $28.00 each. We will sell his boards over the next couple of weeks (they've already shipped from Germany) and Parallax will pay in advance the $560.00 amount from Guenther. Guenther's boards will be available within 10 days.
* Stefano Caruso Our Italian customer who is working on a translation of our Boe-Bot text has pledged $100 through Parallax.
Let's hope that this money is put to good use wherever it is needed. Thank you to everybody for contributing.
Sincerely,
Ken Gracey
