I read recently that FEMA stated in early 2001 ** that there were three
likely, yet major, catastrophes that could happen in the US:

1.      Terrorist attack on NYC
2.      Hurricane hitting New Orleans
3.      Massive earthquake in San Francisco

So far we're batting .666 (so to speak).
