Yes, there is no easy way to deal with this. And note that allowing arbitrarily long lines doesn't solve it either. I think the best solution would be for mail clients to not automatically wrap outgoing lines that start with ">", on the assumption that they are quoted lines being replied to. Readers would also have to present them unwrapped. This process would work up to a few levels of quotation until the unwrapped lines exceed the window width, which is hopefully somewhat wider than the normal outgoing wrap width. That system would be better than what we have now, but still not foolproof. Of course whatever way I think it should be done is pointless since OE and other popular mailers do what they do and aren't likely to change. I run OEQuoteFix, which definltely helps. Sometimes it actually messes things up a bit, but on the whole it helps a lot more than it hurts. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
