Yep -- I should be able to select and "average" (in terms of power 
consumption) module and use that.

Calculated up to 2 amps.  In practice I've not seen more than 1.8A total.  (I 
can have up to 10 pics on this board).

I just ordered an ICD2 clone which I will try to get working under Linux.
