I need to investigate that; it seems to me that even the "low current" mode of USB (100mA?) ought to be able to power quite a bit of user circuit in addition to the ICD2 itself... (In particular, I bought one of the universal ISP->socket adaptors so I can use the ICD2 as a simple programmer, and I'm hoping that won't require a separate power supply!)
