I was trying to use the built in USART but needed distance so I tought of RS485. I have used half duplex rs485 many times and I know I need the extra pin to toggle between send and receive. Now, I tough (I guess not much) that full duplex rs485 wouldn't need that pin. Other problem I see is that if I disable all the transmitters since are all in hiz the receiver (and the master) reads a lot of crap which I don't want... I'll start considering the CAN as Olin suggested.
