Yeah, I did plug PICs backward myself too.. But the original question was: "Is it possible to hurt a (16F88) PIC by reprogramming such that it dies, or at least behaves like it is dead?" OK, maybe the description was somewhat ambiguous, but I meant it literally: only re-programming. I mentioned 'Wisp628', which implies ISCP and no plugging out/in. The move to another board was only _after_ it seemed to be unprogrammable. See also my reply to Jan-Erik for follow-up.
