And yes, my statement (that most of the resources of the PIC are wasted) did indeed apply only to hobbyists. Although I really don't think we have an exaggerated view of our relevance. What we do provide is time and patience to try some things that you commercial types would dismiss as foolish because you have to look at the bottom line. An appropriate analogy would be hams and the communications industry.
