I remember seeing a story some years ago about the immune
systems of Amazonian (?) crocs that scientists were looking at.
Might have come up in Aus now because there's a local angle

At one time sharks were being investigated for anti-cancer
drugs (although I think sharks do get it, contrary to what was
originally/popularly believed)
