That would be Murphy!  The antidote to which is Backups, 
of course.  Remembering that Murphy has a hand in that 
too, in that the catastrophic failure always occurs just 
before the next backup.  (I always used to tell my 
clients: "Decide how much work you want to re-do, and 
have the backups spaced that much apart")
