Maybe that's why it's called C30 and not "ANSI C". 

But for any discussion that goes beyond flames and rants, you probably
should make the effort and spell out what exactly you don't like, and why.

I don't know Microchip's C30, but I know (and use, and like) HiTech's PICC
and PICC-18. I don't have a problem calling my programs "C programs".
