So, I spoke too soon when I said that reinstalling the OS fixed the problem! :-) It started happening again. I downloaded the Dependency Walker that Nino mentioned but I couldn't figure out how to use it to determine what was wrong without a lot more knowledge of how warp13.exe works on the inside. I decided to check to see if the problem might be the exact same file that Nino mentioned (MFC42.dll). I checked online and sure enough, the first version of MFC42.dll that I found online was slightly smaller than mine. I backed mine up and put the smaller one in its place. Now warp13.exe works fine (at least after several tries of test cases that definitely did not work before). It remains to be seen if this smaller MFC42.dll causes other problems. I downloaded the smaller MFC42.dll from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc42 For future reference, Nino, how did you use Dependency Walker to find out what was wrong? I saw a number of error messages in it but none that referenced MFC42.dll as I recall.
