It is glad to know that you are planning to add more chips to the EasyISP. I understand that it takes time. Just one more thing, I heard that EasyProg itself does support the dsPICs. Someone is working on it but I have not heard from him for quite sometime. Another possibility to use a bootloader. Since the OP has access to an ICD2, it would be okay in this case. One of the fellow PIClist member has written a bootloader for 30F4011. Maybe I can persuade him to publish the bootloader even though we think that the host application VB codes need to be polished. I was trying to port his bootloader to 30F2010 but I decided to learn USB stuff first. PIC FS USB is also much more worth the money than dsPICDEM 28-pin starter demo board. Anyway it is still in my plan. As for the dsPICDEM 28-pin demo board, there is not much inside and I think it is not that difficult to build on a prototype board. Actually I think it can be finished in one day. Of course one needs to get the samples of dsPICs ready first and the RS232 interface IC (can be replaced by MAX232). I really need to get around to running WinMerge over the "base" version of the code I used to make EasyISP and the new EasyProg firmware.. I think it's time I added a few more chips to the support list.. No ETA yet - it's a spare time project, so it's quite low on the to-do list (right after "stuff that I get paid to do" and "stuff I really should finish off someday"). I've got an ICD2, so I don't really use the Wisp628s much anymore (I've got two - one homebrew, one built from the voti.nl kit). The homebrew one runs EasyISP, the voti.nl one runs the standard Wisp628 firmware. Later. -- Phil. -----Original Message----- From: xxxx Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2005 11:57 AM To: Chen Xiao Fan > However, how do you make it without changing the > firmware? Olin's EasyProg firmware provides enough functionality to program the dsPIC, just not in the most efficient manner. So programming the dsPIC on the EasyProg will take a little longer than on the ProProg, but it should be quite usable. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
