Hi list,

I'm using Olin's EasyProg for ICSP and have a question.

The circuit in question, when running, needs around 1.5A to run.

When using ICSP it seems that the programmer must be able to supply the
+Vdd else the PIC won't program, but there's no way that the Programmers
+Vdd is up to running my project.
In these cases, what do people do ?

I thought about a diode in series with +Vdd PIC pin so that I could
power off the circuit, program the PIC and then power up again but I'm
worried about the voltage drop across the diode.

Is there a tried and tested or done way of doing this ?
