I've just come to the end of my last reel of "real" (60/40 Sn/Pb) solder. The new one is 95.5% Sn / 4.0% Ag / 0.5% Cu . It seems to flow ok and make good joints, but they aren't as "bright" and look like they are "dry joints". Is this normal ? I have got my iron set to 300 DegC but is this too hot or too cold for the newer lead free solders ?
