I was recently working with a SOIC part with an exposed thermal pad - kind of a pain to hand solder. Inspired by their reflow skillet, I tried it on my kitchen range with an old pan and achieved OK results. (I scorched the board in a couple places) I'm sure with some effort and practice I could have gotten better results. I was using regular solder and rosin paste flux, dob of solder on the board - heat - drop the part on with a hemostat. -Denny -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
