They did backtrack a bit judging by the complaints in the user forum. The version that is supposed to appear Aug 1 will in fact will allow shells and surfaces to be created. For $49.95 you can get rid of the google ads. I'm a user of SolidWorks 2005, XPress has many of the features of SW2005 (my guess is probably 90% or so.) That to me is a bargain.
