If x-cad.net is really Alibre, their product appears to compare very favorably with SolidWorks, even better in some respects. It would certainly create some marketing buzz around their product if the giveaway turns out to be from them. But they do have seem to have a good product, and I have had no trouble adapting to it being a SolidWorks user.
