Have spammers found a way to get past the list server, or do we have a bonehead out there that doesn't know how to use an email program? My server definitely received this message from the MIT list server, which got it from a GMAIL server. The FROM line has the bogus text in it shown above and the address shoemakerself@gmail.com, although that may also be forged. Another wierd thing is that I don't use the "Embed Inc, 9780742-9014" text on the FROM line of outgoing PIClist messages, but I do use it from other mail identities. Did others on this list receive this message? Anyone have an idea of what is going on? Here is the complete header of the message as I received it: Received: from 18.7.21.90 (pch.mit.edu) by mail.embedinc.com ; 2005 JUL 15 06:47:12 EDT Received: from pch.mit.edu (pch.mit.edu [127.0.0.1]) by pch.mit.edu (8.12.8p2/8.12.8) with ESMTP id j6FArqWp028299; Fri, 15 Jul 2005 06:54:02 -0400 Received: from pacific-carrier-annex.mit.edu (PACIFIC-CARRIER-ANNEX.MIT.EDU [18.7.21.83]) by pch.mit.edu (8.12.8p2/8.12.8) with ESMTP id j6FArpWn028290 for ; Fri, 15 Jul 2005 06:53:51 -0400 Received: from wproxy.gmail.com (wproxy.gmail.com [64.233.184.203]) j6FArpOe014463 for ; Fri, 15 Jul 2005 06:53:51 -0400 (EDT) Received: by wproxy.gmail.com with SMTP id 36so587989wra for ; Fri, 15 Jul 2005 03:53:50 -0700 (PDT) DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; q=dns; c=nofws; s=beta; d=gmail.com; h=received:message-id:date:from:reply-to:to:subject:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition; b=Yj1UmVJ4qbe/vs8xA32Vj5VEQbF2fChImj1NSlCNerttQVLcQg049l8gQC+j6oNdtZFu/TtoJdKyc8YhVUBJXSI2myHO+VQv0iAdjiIMHuVoUIj6Fz8lnZWlk1sYdzJk ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
