Since Microchip's definition of a production programmer is one that verifies at the specified voltage limits, and since it's very unlikely that a target circuit would include voltage change under program control, it must me that self-programming is "prototype" by MChip's definition! However, since one of the uses of self-programming is to change code in place in the target, it will be used in a "maintenance" situation in installed equipment, if not actually in "production". So, choose your definition and go from there :-) Cheers, Howard Winter St.Albans, England -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
