Sorry for answering late to this thread. I missed the implied question. I have tried everyting for a description of the program, from numbered list in a text file, to numbered list with strong indentation (1, 1.1, 1.2. 1.2.1 ...) to flowcharts using drawing programs, flowcharts using 'hot' link capable programs and so on. I use two kinds of systems now. Simple, using text only and indentation/numbering as above, and fancy, using a document made with OpenOffice whose drawing program supports hotlinks in flowcharts and more. The only requirement I have is that the scheme be readable and searchable (i.e. it has to be plain text at some point or another). The OpenOffice document can be exported as pdf or html and is thus also searchable.
