www.systemc.org?? google for more info... It is supposed to help bridge the 
gap between hardware and software developers (at least that's what the 
marketing people say)... but I'm not exactly sure what the uptake is like..

But judging from what I see, it isn't very popular at the moment.. I 
personally think that developers won't really switch, because it is even more 
abstract than VHDL, and hardware people tend to work at a lower level...
