I'm being lazy - or smart? Enough wading through Apache documents no doubt MAY answer this. Or enough Googling. Or an expert lurking on the list :-) Using Apache Server running on Windows XP Home I have two requirements. They are not strictly related but both may be used together. 1. I wish to provide subfolders which are accessible from the internet only by using a supplied password. 2. I wish to provide subdirectories / folders which are accessible from the internet but which do not allow users to crawl back up the tree and find material in higher levels, even if it is not passworded. I assume that to do this I would have to provide a unique url that was directed to the subfolder. These subfolders do not necessarily need to be password protected - I just want them to APPEAR as a site in their own right - at least to non-experts. Doesn't HAVE to be secure against experts. Any suggestions as to how to achieve these ends would be welcome. Moderate Googling produced related discussions but no concise "do this" instructions.
