I don't guess you read my posts too closely... I know C pretty well, ANSI/ISO C that is. That's why in my original message I said my comments might not apply to the compiler used by the other person. Gerhard responded and showed that my assumptions weren't valid because of how PICC handled the stack (as well as how the static keyword would solve one of the original posters problems.) Take care.
