Hello, I've completed an electronics project and am designing an enclosure. I want to use a CAD program to design the enclosure and then give the created CAD files to a prototype house for metal fabrication. It seems most prototype houses need to convert the CAD design into CAM files to control their CNC machines. I want to create my CAD drawings so that the flow from CAD to CAM will be as simple as possible. I have 3 questions: 1) Does anyone know what the best method of creating the CAD drawings is? Either a) a 3D model, or b) a 2D drawing in full scale of every side layed flat, or c) a 2D drawing not in scale that's essentially a sketch of the enclosure with important info labeled. 2) Do I need to show how and where I think metal should be bent? 3) I just started using TurboCAD. Does anyone recommend an inexpensive CAD program that is more geared towards manufacturing? Thank you, Lou --------------------------------- Discover Yahoo!
