Me bad. I mentioned the boiling point of ball bearings to be cute. What I should have done before replying was to learn something about the specific heat capacity and density of ball bearings. Then I would have realized that they will hold less heat than water, and not cause the temperature to drop slower. Oil might be another thing, but would it be worth it?
