What are you referring to as a "cooling fluid"?  I was trying to very slowly 
reduce or increase heat of the oil in my existing experiments, but many many 
hours later, I still got noticeably inconsistent results.  I was even 
thinking of doing this both with increasing and then decreasing temps and 
averaging, but still not comfortable with this.
