I came acorss the C30 cross compiler under Linux in 
a Microchip Forum post.

You can download the package from the following
website. However, the libraries are missing.

It will take some more efforts to get the things
going. One thing is that the optimizer is closed
source. The other is the library.

I thought that you built a C30 cross compiler for the DSPic. Did I
misread?
