my original disk partitioning has been:

disk1: primary partition + beginning of dynamic volume
disk2: part2 of dynamic volume
disk3: part3 of dynamic volume

unfortunately, i deleted the primary partition on disk1 for test
purposes.

now, i need to regenerate a primary partition on disk1, but windows does
only allow me to generate a simple dynamic volume, but no primary
partition.

i also tried to generate such a partition using the windows install cd,
but doing so, the install tool tells me that the dynamic multi disk
volume will be lost, when generating a primary partition.

what workaround allows me to regenerate a primary partition on this
disk, without loosing all data on the dynamic multi disk volume?

please help!
