OK - thanks for pulling me back from the window ledge. Seriously, I think I misread the original post as implying that the old style (shudder - absolute) addressing would no longer be allowed. My error. As for "upgrade" - I am referring to the 7.1 version of MPLAB. I currently have Ver. 6.62 on this machine and a slightly later version on my home machine, I don't recall at the moment which version is on the laptop.
