Yep.  ST485, SN75176 ......  provided it's half duplex so it's only 2 
wires.  Develop a simple protocol or just copy one of the dozens already 
found on the web.  I've been doing it this way since about 1976 and 
still find it one of the cheapest and easiest comm links to establish.
