FDIM is a great venue. The main attraction is a number of presentations on Thursday. Each year seems better than the year before. This year George Dobbs, G3RJV, will be speaking, he is ALWAYS entertaining. L.B. Cebik, W4RNL, "Mr. Antenna" is on the list. Paul Harden, NA5N, the go-to guy for propagation questions. Peter Zenker, DL2FI - another guy that is always entertaining. Roy Lewellan, W7EL, who doesn't know of Roy? But besides that, in the evenings there is a vendor's night, a buildathon, presentations of various homebrew rigs. This is the best event all year for people who like to melt solder. And besides the speakers, it's a great chance to get together with some of the planet's best homebrewers. Chuck Adams, K7QO, Jim Kortge, K8IQY, Preston Douglas, W2JV, Craig Johnson, AA0ZZ, Bill Kelsey, N8ET, Peter Linsley, G3PDL and lots and lots of others will be there. A lot of these guys will bring stuff to show off so you can learn the secrets of amazing builders like Kortge, but they will all be looking for a chat in the evenings, too, so there is at least as much to be learned in the evening informal milling around as in the actual Thursday presentations.
