I don't believe anyone was accusing YOU of being a troll; the poster below was just stating that most people on this list don't have to scrounge through the discarded leavings of co-workers to come up with components vital to a project. And that's probably almost universally the case (although I have had to do so in the past, before I had the bits and bobs necessary to do my job around here). In your case, as I understand, you found what looked like a neat gadget and wanted to know if it was useful. And yes, the other poster is probably trolling. He's being deliberately belligerent to you about this.
