I was thinking about the next stage when code goes from serial eeprom to=20
flash. If I have garbage in the serial eeprom (can be used by the main=20
application for instance) at positions that will go to flash but which=20
are  not are written to by the first stage they will be programmed with=20
something instead if  0ff in flash which is less good .  I  allow for an=20
upper limit but  want to allow holes in the program code. Or is it the=20
same with flash that writing 0xff will count as a "write".

With 10^6 write erase/write cycles it will probably be no big problem=20
anyway.
