I have done a small project with the PicAXE28X chip, and the limitations lead me to look at the PIC (pic16F873A). I have generated a small test program (with MikroPascal) loaded it in the PIC but it does not work in circuit. The main question is are they pin compatible, apart form the way PicAxe drive it. The clock on the chip is a 4Mhz xtal but the levels at the pin are very low on pin 10 less than 2v, but on the PicAXE28X around 5v. Trying to drive PORTB.7 as a noise source with different frequencies (hearing range). When power is applied the pin toggles state (if switched reasonably quick) almost like it is stepping with power. I think I am missing something, can someone help while I am still a little sane.
