Also, you can use the free CC5X for 16F and CC8E demo versionfor 18F. Get them from http://www.bknd.com/cc8e/index.shtml and http://www.bknd.com/cc5x/index.shtml. The 16F version is completely free, and I don't think it has any limits. The 18F version I think has a code size limit of about 1 or 2K instructions. Also, I think the 18F version had some optimisation limits.
