But looking at the pictures, it does appear to be a simple programmer with a charge pump to generate Vpp. Based on that assumption, it is very unlikely that the software that worked under Win98 would still work on NT/XP. I think there's good odds that trying it on a Win98 machine will work. The USB programmer thing does get around that, although it's not the USB that really does it. Probably not such a bad plan given the price of things like the Wisp628 or EasyProg. Assuming you have a schematic, you might try your programmer with WinPic or FPP.
