There are two of them here in muncie, being used by college profs 
apparently, commuting about a mile or so, along the best sidewalks in town.

Most other places have significant challenges to overcome, like 
telephone poles in the middle of the sidewalk, no ramps, or potholes 
that would swallow a yugo.
