> Carlos A. Marcano V. > > So, Russell, what are the options? > Canon. Or if you like, Canon. Lowest cost of operation, excellent reliability, speed and quality. For an inkjet printer, they are the only choice. HP used to be it, but they are failing on almost every front. Printers (laser and ink), PCs, servers, calculators etc... They sold off 'scopes and Aligent is still a great name, but I wouldn't recommend anything with HP's name on it at this point. I know more about laser printers. If you want a truly great laser printer, for basic, low cost use, and don't care so much about speed, go find an old LaserJet III computer places will literally give them away. If you need better resolution get an LJ 4. For more speed get a 4si or a 5si. If you need speed, resolution and all that, get a Brother HL-1440 for home use or an HL-5140 for the office. For multifunction go with a Brother MFC-8440 or CANON MF5750. For color laser, go with one of the Xerox Phaser Solid-Ink Color Printers like the 8400/B. Up to 24ppm in color (more like 10ppm but still great) and the lowest cost of operation of any color printing system by far. FedEx is out on all counts, UPS is winning but USPS is actually the best. (my opinion only) Ford for large trucks, Honda for cars. (my opinion only) SX for speed and lower product cost, PIC for ease of programming and quick prototypes. (my opinion only) Nextel for data services, Sprint for voice. (my opinion only) The Daily Show for news.
