Why not try it? If you're sure about the supply pins, there's much less risk of frying the display (unless you feed it some VPP, which I did once) just by sending data to it. > The red tracer on the ribbon cable that is attached to the display is > on pin 14 which surprises me! Not much better IMHO so I soldered connectors to each end of a piece of ribbon cable, so I have a standard pin layout at the other end.
