While browsing semi-randomly :) I found this tool. It's a serial monitor that monitors what a program (any program) on your computer does with the serial port. While working on serial comm protocols, I often wished I had something like that. It's less frequent these days, but I still thought that someone might find this interesting. Without this tool, the only other ways are to route the serial data through a dedicated serial analyzer or through two COM ports on a PC (one in, one out) and a program that connects the two and displays the traffic. Both methods are quite a bit clumsier than this program. I haven't tested it, and it's not free (starting at $50). Requires a WinNT type system.
