Or maybe a 4-1/2 digit DPM. I've seen them fairly inexpensive, but not really
cheap. Depends if you want static or multiplexed drive, too.

It's an oddball requirement- the elastomer connector generally
requires a matching gold-plated PCB and precise location of the
glass wrt the PCB (usually achieved via a molding or stamping).
And if you're building a prototype for mass production then
you'd want to get an exact sample from the manufacturer.
