has a number of choices for protoboards.   I don't think I've seen 
plain perfboard
for sale in a long time :-(

If you have surplus stores near you, you can check there.  Frequently 
they'll
have edges from full-sized (4x4 foot) panel at a penny or two per 
square inch.
Shipping can be depressing on something heavy like this, and I've had a 
hard
time finding single-sided boards...
