There are the normal suspects.  I bought a full reel (1000?) of red 3mm
LEDs for about $20 from Electronics Goldmine a couple years back when 
they
were "on sale" or something.  They have a similar offer now (only for 
"4mm"
LEDs, according to their copy.)

most of the regular eBay sellers seem to be selling ultrabrights.
