Hmmph.  You used to be able to download a gnu-based toolchain for Palm
development without needing to sign up for their "developer program."
I'm not impressed; this seems like a big step in the wrong direction
(OTOH, it wouldn't surprise me if this is the only way they could keep
up with the churn in palmos versions and processors...)

The gnu toolchain still seems to be available at
http://prc-tools.sourceforge.net/
