I don't live in Portland, but I've been there enough to know that you have to make it to dinner and/or happy hour at the Portland City Grille. It's on the 30th floor of one of the really tall buildings downtown, with windows everywhere. It's really an amazing sight on a clear afternoon when you see Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens overlooking the entire city. Another thing worth doing if you're able to get away is to take a trip out to the coast. I went hiking around in a state park (it's name slips my mind) that goes from dense forest to a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean (a dramatic sight for a guy from Florida). Then, I went down to the town where the Goonies was filmed (again, can't remember the name). The Goonies Rock (the one that they match up with the lighthouse) is pretty awesome - it's a lot bigger than you realize in the movie. Enjoy, Alex --------------010005030608020500080304 Content-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=utf-8; name="alex.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="alex.vcf" begin:vcard fn:Alex Parkinson n:Parkinson;Alex org:CircuitWerkes, Inc. adr:;;2805 NW 6th St.;Gainesville;FL;32609;United States of America email;internet:alex@circuitwerkes.com title:Staff Engineer tel;work:(352)335-6555 tel;fax:(352)380-0230 x-mozilla-html:FALSE url:http://www.circuitwerkes.com version:2.1 end:vcard --------------010005030608020500080304 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist --------------010005030608020500080304--
