Does anyone have a good source for printer cables? Before you say "any computer store" the issue is that I can NOT use the standard IEEE 1284 cables. I need IEEE 1284-1996, the extra -1996 makes all the difference. Quantities are 50 or 100 of each type at a time. Configurations include: - Standard AB cable in 10' length. Target price is $5 to $10 per cable. - Rare B (female) to C (Male) adapter cables in 6" or so length. - B (female) to B (Male) "pigtail" cables in 6" or so length. My current source, while excellent for product quality, is proving unreliable for lead time and delivery. He also seems to have trouble telling a female connector from a male... I'm perfectly happy to import these from China or anywhere else as long as I can get them reliably with 1 or 2 weeks lead. For anyone who doesn't know, the C type connector is the weird little one you find on the back of some printers: http://techref.massmind.org/techref/io/parallel/1284/1284Cprinters.htm for some strange reason, it seems to be used more on large network type printers than on the small printers where its size might be appropriate. --- James Newton: PICList webmaster/Admin mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 phone http://www.piclist.com/member/JMN-EFP-786 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
