At first I read the subject as: looking for blind mate to wire 16A contacts I thought that just seemed mean. Seriously, though, I can't really imagine the design of a blind-mating wire-to-wire connector. It also doesn't seem especially useful to rig up some weird connector and try to clamp it to the circuit board instead of putting the traces on the board. That being said, perhaps something along these lines? http://www.hubbellcatalog.com/wiring/section-a-datasheet.asp?PN=H320B&FAM=Straight_Blade&P=13466 A board edge connector would probably be better. Check out this PDF: http://www.elconproducts.com/crownedge/cat_ce-20020225b.pdf Elcon is under the Tyco/Amp umbrella, I didn't check if these parts are distributed anywhere, though. You'll notice in the PDF that they claim 30A per contact for the power variety and they come in a 4 position variety. I don't know if you have to get extra copper plating to use these, which might be an issue if you were trying to use one of the cheaper proto PCB services. As to trace thickness, I'm sure this has been discussed on this list or possibly comp.arch.embedded if you do a search. You need to increase your normal trace spacing to get UL approval on things that have an AC connection.
