A true technophile ought to be confident that lots of the major
problems of the world could be solved by appropriate application
of technology, if only it could be PROPERLY applied.  Instead,
we get spam, porn, and Microsoft.

(Consider your used computer; like my 90MHz pentium,  You'd think
that that there would be lots of people that could do something
useful with that; have their lives improved.  However, thanks to
the amount of churn in technology and software, the only people
likely to be able to do anything with it are geeks who already
have more computers than they know what to do with...)
