point was not a comparison of Windows with all other systems out there. It
was that pre-OS X Macs didn't seem to be able to run applications
concurrently effectively, in the sense that there weren't really any server
apps to speak of for pre-OS X Macs. And that tasks like compiling or
rendering in the background don't seem to have been known to Mac people
before OS X.)

To make this story short... show me a pre-OS X Mac with a web server
running PHP and MySQL or something similar out there (I should be able to
connect to one, shouldn't I? Lots of Win2k servers I can connect to) and
I'll call myself corrected :)
